Little Red Caboose Variety Show

The Little Red Caboose Variety Show is back again to kick off the Railroad Days festivities with a showcase of local talent. It will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Centennial Auditorium in Staples with the show starting at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. 

This year’s show boasts newcomers and favorite acts, all local talent.

     Newcomers to the show include Laken Hines and Walker Johnson who will be performing their State placing speeches from this past school year's State Speech Tournament and Kathy Iverson, Eric Neznick and Meredith Hoemberg. Returning favorites include music by the Staples Area Men's and Women’s choruses, Gary and Dawn Timbs, Sarah Kroll, Nathan Beard and The Little Moran River Band as well as many, many, more! 

     Proceeds from the show will benefit Lamplighter Community Theatre’s summer Lamp Camp, a performance arts camp featuring singing, dance and drama which gives children and young adults from the age of 8-18 a great learning experience in all three of those areas. The other half goes to the Staples Area Men’s Chorus and their Real Men Sing choral festival which gives young male singers and their directors a full day of educational experiences with choral clinicians and male singers from all age groups from junior high to high school to college and adult choruses and culminates in a mass chorus concert that evening. 

Tickets can be purchased at the door or for a $2 dollar discount, tickets are available in advance at the Staples World office, Hubbard Hardware and Ace Hardware in Staples or online at www.lctstaples.com.

Co-hosts for the Little Red Caboose Variety Show are the Staples Area Men’s Chorus and Lamplighter Community Theatre. Sponsors include the Staples Motley Area Community Foundation, Lakeland Public Television and the Five Wings Arts Council.
